If you are interested in religious tours, this one is the perfect choice. You will have the opportunity to visit churches listed as World Heritage sites, unique Monasteries and places of extraordinary beauty.

1st Day

We will meet at Athens International Airport and be privately transferred to the hotel. The rest of the day will be free in order to familiarize yourself with Athens.
2nd Day

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel in order to visit two must-see sights on a memorable trip from Athens. You will explore Daphni’s Monastery & Ancient Corinth. The bus will drive you to Corinth via Iera Odos (the Sacred Way). It was so called because it was the route taken by a procession celebrating the Eleusinian Mysteries, were initiations held every year for the cult of Demeter and Persephone based at Eleusis in ancient Greece. Our first stop will be the Monastery of Daphni, an 11th-century Byzantine monastery listed as a World Heritage site together with Monasteries Hosios Loukas and Nea Moni of Chios. The interior of the church is decorated with superb mosaics, a unique, fine example of the Classical idealism of Middle Byzantine art. The crowded scenes of the mosaics narrate scenes from the life of Christ and the Virgin.
2nd Day

Driving along the coastal road, we will reach Corinth canal, which merges the Aegean with the Ionian Sea (short stop for photos of the breathtaking view). Shortly thereafter we reach the ancient town of Corinth, where St. Paul lived and preached for two years (Acts 18:1-18). Visit the ruins of the ancient city where Paul worked with Aquila and Priscilla, see the remains of the first century shops, the Agora where Paul’s trial by Gallio took place, the Fountain of Peirene, and one of the most outstanding monuments of pre –Roman period, the temple of Apollo. We will then return to the hotel and have the rest of the day free in order to relax or further explore the city of Athens.
3rd Day

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel for an unforgettable visit to the majestic Meteora grey rocks and its cliff-top monasteries. The first day you will arrive at Delphi around noon. Famous for its theater, Temple of Apollo and ancient ruins, Delphi was considered the center of the earth and the universe, and played a central role in the classical Greek world. Visit at the archaeological site and the Temple of Apollo, famous for its oracle.
3rd Day

In the afternoon, after lunch, depart through Central Greece and the cities of Lamia (short stop), Trikala - crossing the Thessalian plain - to Kalambaka, a small town built at the foot of the majestic grey rocks and crowded by the Meteora Monasteries (short stop for souvenirs). Overnight in Kalambaka.
4th Day

We leave in the morning for nearby Meteora for a tour of the cliff-top monasteries to visit two different Byzantine Monasteries built on top of rock towers and providing fantastic view over the plain. Meteora is included on the UNESCO world heritage monument list. Normally we are visiting Great Meteoron Monastery and St. Stefanos but every Tuesday we are visiting instead of Great Meteoron, Varlaam Monastery.
4th Day

The monasteries are perched on top of towers of sandstone, which for centuries provided totally inaccessible retreats for the monks. Meteora is considered one of the most beautiful areas of mainland Greece, and its monasteries are one of the country's most unique attractions. By your return you may optionally visit a factory of Byzantine style icons. We will return to Athens passing by the heroic monument of Leonidas, King of Sparta in Thermopylae (short stop for photos). We will return to Athens and your hotel late in the afternoon.
5th Day

You will be picked up from your hotel and be privately transferred to Athens International Airport for your flight back home.
